The festival’s theme of twelfth edition will be “Altri orizzonti: camminare, conoscere, scoprire” – “Other horizons: to walk, to know, to discover”. The whole evolution of the human race has been characterized by this yearning to research. From its exploration of the earth and space, that have enabled new habitats to be created and for knowledge to be further developed, to the need to go beyond the here and now of daily life in order to search for different kinds of both religious and secular spirituality .
This new edition of the Dialogues on Man will be attended by scholars of various fields of religious spirituality who will explain to us our need to surpass and go beyond life on earth; and by scientists who explore the subject as they look for the key to understanding life, by travellers and explorers who try to exceed limits and boundaries, and by artists and art historians who attempt to understand what pushes them to create new realities.
This festival recalls, in the choice of its theme, the celebration of Jacobean Year and the opening of Pistoia’s Holy Door in honour of the relic of St. James, which has been kept in the Cathedral for the past 900 years and that connects Santiago di Compostela to Pistoia itself.
