A festival centred on the exploration of the many ‘languages’ that Italian music has developed over the past forty years so as to narrate stories and to move the public. In particular, the planned concerts present songwriters who range from the mainstream, rock and indie to rap and soul, with their various styles and with different generational techniques.
The festival – apart from presenting one of the greats of Italian music, the ‘father’ of all songwriters today, Francesco De Gregori (12/7) – will welcome a new generation of musicians and songwriters who are definitely characterizing the market and the taste of the public in a way and with an expressive vitality which hasn’t been seen for years. From the 2020 Sanremo winner, Diodato (15/7) to Ghemon’s soul music (11/7), from Motta’s raw rock (10/7) to Subsonica’s electronic sounds (9/7), from the indie songwriting of Fulminacci (8/7), to the resolutely black approach of Frah Quintale and Venerous (13/7) and then right up to iosonuncane’s experimentation (14/7). The menu is particularly rich in choice and flavours.
As always in Pistoia, and in the tradition of Pistoia Blues, the main element will be….. quality. During the festival – a true mirror of Italian music today – careful attention will be paid to the qualitative aspect which has always characterized the city’s summer programme. A city which has cut out for itself, over the past decades, a place of honour in the variegated panorama of summer events.
We would like to remind you that the 41st edition of the Pistoia Blues Festival is planned in 2022 with the already arranged concert of Simple Minds on 15th July 2022.
