Macchia Antonini is a vast natural area in the Pistoia Mountains, ideal for relaxing walks and enjoying the surrounding countryside. The area takes its name from the Antonini family, who purchased it from Pietro Leopoldo, Grand Duke of Tuscany.
Since 1827, every year on the Sunday closest to 20 August, Macchia Antonini has hosted one of Tuscany’s oldest traditional festivals. The event attracts large crowds with its live entertainment, food stalls and local craft market.
In 2026, the traditional Festa alla Macchia Antonini (Annual Macchia Antonini Celebration) returns on Sunday, 23 August, from 3 pm, with an afternoon of celebrations surrounded by nature and a rich programme of activities for all ages, soon to be announced.
