On Friday, February 6, 2026, at 8.30 PM, at Teatro Manzoni in Pistoia, a concert by I Solisti di Pavia and Alexander Gavrylyuk.
I Solisti di Pavia, one of the most acclaimed ensembles on the Italian chamber music scene, will perform with the extraordinary participation of Ukrainian pianist Alexander Gavrylyuk and trumpeter Alfonso González Barquín.
The program opens with the brilliant Rhapsody in Blue by George Gershwin, presented in the version for piano and string orchestra, followed by the Concerto in D major for String Orchestra by Igor Stravinsky, a masterful example of neoclassical balance and clarity.
Next is the poignant Adagio for Strings, Op. 11, by Samuel Barber—one of the most moving and well-known works in the 20th-century orchestral repertoire.
The concert concludes with Dmitri Shostakovich’s Concerto No. 1 in C minor for Piano, Trumpet, and String Orchestra, Op. 35.
The 2025/2026 Concert Season is promoted by Fondazione Teatri di Pistoia, with the support of Fondazione Caript.
