On Wednesday, May 27, 2026, at 8.30 PM, at Teatro Manzoni in Pistoia, conductor Daniele Giorgi will lead the Orchestra Leonore in a concert featuring two cornerstones of the European Romantic repertoire. At the piano, the spotlight will be on young Russian talent Alexander Malofeev, one of the most acclaimed performers of his generation.
The program opens with Edvard Grieg’s Piano Concerto in A minor, Op. 16, a work rich in lyricism and virtuosic flair, blending the strength of classical form with the melodic and rhythmic inspiration of Nordic tradition.
Following this, the Symphony No. 6 in B minor, Op. 74 “Pathétique” by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, the composer’s spiritual and musical testament. A deeply emotional work, marked by dramatic contrasts and poignant expressiveness, it closes with a final movement of rare and moving melancholy.
The 2025/2026 Concert Season is promoted by Fondazione Teatri di Pistoia, with the support of Fondazione Caript.
