Saturday, July 12, 2025, as part of the Pistoia Blues Festival 2025, an evening of remembrance dedicated to the great musician from Pistoia, Nick Becattini.
One year after his last performance, an entire evening in memory of Nick Becattini, a historic bluesman from Pistoia. In Piazza del Duomo, starting in the late afternoon, five bands will take the stage for a big, free-entry musical celebration.
Special guests of the evening: Giancarlo Crea, harmonica player and singer from Milan, founder of Model T-Boogie;
Dario Lombardo, guitarist and singer, founding member of Blues Shakers; Sergio Montaleni, member of Tobia Blues Band, a Pistoia-based group founded by Nick; Mimmo Mollica, historic Italian harmonica player; Daniele Nesi, bassist from Pistoia.
Line-up
T.N.T. Blues Band
A five-piece blues band from Pistoia devoted to Chicago Blues, with classic and instrumental tracks full of rockin’ spirit.
Tennessee Rose Blues Band
A Florence-based band active since 2021, featured in major Italian blues festivals. Their sound combines groove and tradition with high energy.
Mud Machine
Formed in 2020, they blend raw blues, ’60s soul and R&B with modern sounds. Performing their album “Tough Times, Muddy Grooves”.
Nick Becattini Legacy
A project created by Nick’s family and band to keep his musical legacy alive. During the concert, his album “Crazy Legs” and the books “Catartico Blues” and “Dialoghi con Giulio” will be remembered.
Umberto Porcaro & The Nickettes
Porcaro, winner of the 2024 Italian Blues Challenge and Italian representative at the 2025 International Blues Challenge in Memphis, will perform with The Nickettes, a vocal trio he co-founded with Nick Becattini.
